Due to endemic violence in Honduras and other circumstances, in 2013 we changed our emphasis more towards young adults and families, teaching English and general knowledge, vocational skills, literally brought light to mud and stick houses, and initiated countless other efforts to improve their lives and futures. Currently we are supporting two people to attend university in Honduras and are the full sponsors of a Kenyan man in college in the US; we spend approximately a third of our income on these endeavors, and I’m sure our income is significantly less than yours. In all, we have spent years living in dirty, and at times dangerous, places, and have spent $10’s of thousands of our own money all to provide opportunities and improve the lives of impoverished people.
There is a phrase that has become quite popular in the lexicon of the “social justice” world that categorizes all people as “brown and black,” and pejoratively as white, and the thing is, the people we’ve worked with and for over these many years have been exclusively “brown and black.” Nevertheless, we are conservatives and voted for Trump, hence since 2016 to the present we are relentlessly called fascists, Nazi’s, and, of course, hate-filled racists by the Democrat elite, their automatons, and their sycophantic media: people of great wealth and privilege who raise their voices in faux-“social justice” outrage but would never actually raise a finger to truly help a “brown or black” person- the Democrat haute monde who exploit “brown and black” people for political gain.
In your pseudo-pious support of the latest grotesque political circus, this extra-constitutional impeachment and Senate trial of ex-President Trump, you have allied yourself with these odious voices that mindlessly attack my wife and me, along with 10’s of millions of other citizens, as “racists.” You sanctimoniously hide under the guise of the Constitution while, in fact, you are perverting the Constitution, solely to curry favor with those whose greed for power is limitless, and who are using their power to promulgate hate and division. Your yearning for a pat on the head from Chuck Schumer is incomprehensible to any rationale and compassionate person, though sadly understandable through the prism of your debased politics.
I realize we are nothing to you, and at best this communication will be read by a low-level staffer who may offer a stock response filled with meaningless slogans and rationalizations; that’s just the way it is. Likewise, it’s too easy to understand that, in the present political climate, a moral coward feels compelled to abandon his or her ostensible values and beliefs in order to ingratiate him or herself with their new masters, as you have done. I am not quickly inclined to opprobrium, but your recent declaration has revealed you to be, to quote one of your newly established partners and compatriots, a truly deplorable “representative of the people,” and that is terribly lamentable.

Great letter Reid! I certainly hope you post any response you get; however, I am doubtful that will happen. Anything to open their eyes to what they're doing not only to this country, but to themselves who in the end, will experience the same unfortunate outcomes.... evil never wins in the end! I truly believe that the persecutors will thus become the persecuted! I pray that God will continue to Bless and save America and that His Divine Providence will ultimately shine in the end! Even though we are experiencing real anarchy, it will not last. Much good will come out of all this chaos and the evil and corrupt will be seen for what they are. Only then can we make strides to improve our condition. I'm a true optimist who believes anything is possible and that we should never give up!... there is always hope; and goodness will prevail in the end!

Reid,
I admire your work on behalf of the downtrodden, sick and forgotten people all over the globe. It is sad that the view from the Beltway does not reach those places in a personal way, and I doubt that the plight of suffering people will ever be much more to those folks in Washington than a passing sound byte opportunity.
I too supported DJT and he has done more for the masses here in America and around the world than the establishment crowd would ever deem to do or dream to do. I too bristle at being painted with a very broad and very black brush just because I am a conservative. Frankly, no one I personally know fits the descriptions so easily and glibly and thoughtlessly dropped on them by ignorant elites. It truly puzzles me how little self-awareness those people possess. And while my heart aches for the immediate future of our nation I must agree with Carol Ann Milljour and confess that I also believe the tables will turn and that in spite of the cascading effects of idiocy flowing out of our nation's capitol I still maintain a hopeful spirit.
Those who have shown their true colors and abandoned whatever shred of conservatism they may have once possessed are now showing their truly colors. They never really have been for us, the little guys, and that is as plain as it can get at this point. One of the main achievements of the Trump administration was to drag these creatures out into the open so that we could all see them for what they really are and I am mighty thankful for that.
I hope you do get a response from the senator's staff. It might be interesting to see how they spin their perspective, especially now since the impeachment has run its course and DJT has been acquitted.
Keep the faith, there is yet light at the end of the tunnel.
