It seems some enterprising activists- the Denver Communists- happened upon their statement and, predictably, were outraged. Their angst and furor manifested in the form of street protests, vandalism, and intimidation, i.e. the usual. The Denver Communists “organize together on the basis of mutual commitment to revolutionary socialism, internationalism, and liberation from all oppression.” Their catchy slogans include No Borders No Nations, Palestinian Liberation By Any Means Necessary, and Defund, Disarm & Defeat the Police. The few photos of their members/activists on their website, not surprisingly, reveal exclusively white people (denvercommunists.org/).

The Denver Communists claim they don’t oppose Christianity in general: "There are plenty of Christian denominations that don’t share their (Recycle God’s Love) bigoted view, such as the ELCA [Evangelical Lutheran Church in America] …” It might be noted that the ELCA and a number of other establishment denominations, the Presbyterian Church, USA, the Unitarians, and United Methodists, for example, have simply rejected the parts of Scripture they don’t like and amplified they parts that make them feel good about themselves, similar to claiming to be a vegetarian (which I am), talking about love and compassion for animals, but eating Whoppers. The Unitarians are amusing in that they actually place the word “church” in quotation marks: Every Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) congregation is a “church” under U.S. tax law, therefore tax exempt, charitable, and exempt from tax filing” (https://www.uua.org/).

Though I was raised and remain a non-believer and have never thought of things in terms of sin, I have studied theology a good deal. Both the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament) and New Testament are replete with the word “sin,” the most commonly mentioned being idolatry, meaning worship of other gods or creating images of them (the first two of the 10 Commandments). Original Sin is really a Christian concept, not a Jewish one, and likewise the idea that all people are innately sinners is much more of a Christian construct.
Though there certainly are “burn in Hell for eternity” Christians, it is much more Scripturally and doctrinally sound to regard sin as something to overcome, and to always treat the sinner with compassion. Progressive leftist groups need to portray Christians as hate-filled lunatics as a means to accomplish their goals, much as Jim Crow politicians of the past century needed to blame “uppity” black people for all their woes: the reliable“Us versus Them” power strategy. For a Christian to berate or injure someone because they are a sinner- homosexual in this case- is antithetical: Jesus got into a heap of trouble with the Establishment because he willingly associated with sinners.

The idea, as expressed by the Denver Communists in regards to Recycle God’s Love, that individuals and groups must be in total compliance with a particular doctrine is as old as humanity. It’s found under many names and systems, including authoritarianism, despotism, tyranny, dictatorships, theocracies, and perhaps can be collectively called fascism. It doesn't matter whether it’s extreme left (communism) or right (Nazism) it all amounts to the same thing: a limited number of people in power trying to control the words, thoughts, and actions of the population through coercion, intimidation, and violence, but also at times bread and circuses, depending on the situation. Fascists on a global scale, and at a petty level like the Denver Communists, simply cannot abide by anyone not in total compliance with their dogma, rules, and cultural mandates.
As alluded to in the first paragraph, too many ostensibly charitable organizations use marginal good works or compassionate sounding words to channel money, prestige, and power for their own benefit. The “non-profit” world is filled with this, along with their cousins, the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), various unions (the massive National Education Association a well-known example), and certainly government and global bureaucracies: corruption, fraud, and waste can be misdirected if camouflaged by words and phrases such as “human rights,” “helping children,” and “saving lives.” Likewise, those who question the reality of such organizations are accused of being against human rights, children, and saving lives. As someone who has spent well over 20 years at the financial low end of the charitable world, where amounts are measured in $100s, not $1,000,000,000s, I’ve learned to be both skeptical and even cynical. From my research the “Recycling God’s Love” project is everything a charity should be.

A final thought is that the Denver Communists are supposedly repulsed by the mention of homosexuality being considered a sin (by Christians) while expressing support for Palestinians. Forgetting that the Denver Communists are fully ignorant about the concept of sin in Christianity, it’s doubtful they would ever consider opposing, let alone vandalizing, anything Muslim. Islam is not “gay-friendly,” and its Scripture and doctrine allows for and/or demands punishment for the “crime” of homosexuality. The prescribed penalties vary from flogging to execution: It was narrated from Ibn`Abbas that the Messenger of Allah said: “Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Lut, (referring to Lot and Sodom in the book of Genesis) kill the one who does it, and the one to whom it is done” (Hadith 2561). This should not impugn Islam universally, however this is not some arcane historical thing going back 1,200 years, but exists in the here and now- around 12 counties include in their legal codes execution for homosexuality, and all but one are Muslim.
It’s impressive the contortions privileged white progressives, such as the Denver Communists, will go through so as to make the world and reality conform, in their minds, to their beloved narratives.

Well, Reid, another eye opening article. So glad to know that the “Recycle of God’s Love” non-profit is legit. You don’t know sometimes if your money is well spent or not in regards to donating to what one might consider a worthy cause. When a not-for-profit organization doesn’t stand for what they profess they stand for, then that’s corruption at it’s peak. Talk about scams! They know how to reel in the old dough so to speak.
I always liked the motto, “Do onto others as you would want them to do onto you.” I know evil will always exist. The reason why being a Christian is so preferable to a great many individuals, I believe, is because if you try to build up instead of tear down, you are creating a healthier environment. It is not so much we should judge others for their lifestyles and behaviors even though a great many do. Needless to say, it is out there and people don’t like it when they are on the receiving end of the judgment call. No one can (or should) control anyone. The exception to this is, of course, is when someone does harm to another either by word or deed.
I don’t really care how people live their lives so much as I do that they don’t hurt others in the process. To be fair, no one is perfect. What is perfect? No one really has the answer for that one. Well, being a Catholic, I truly believe that God is perfect! He was, is and always will be in my mind. I have never met a perfect individual. I will say though, I would much prefer being around someone who is kind and considerate. I don’t gravitate towards people who are belligerent, mean, greedy, unclean in appearance and speech, etc. They don’t have to be perfect, just considerate of others. I know I’m not perfect for sure! I’ve made my share of mistakes and misjudgments, etc. I do know one thing for certain and that is I dislike gossip immensely. It gives someone else a bad feeling for another and oftentimes it is far from truthful...that in itself can cause a lot of problems. I remember growing up and my mom saying: “If they are talking about me, they are leaving someone else alone”. Sometimes I think gossips are trying to make themselves look better by tearing someone else down. Too bad and such a shame!
All in all, the reason behind any kind of Christianity is to understand that no one is perfect, but everyone matters. We should be helping each other out instead of tearing each other apart. The German’s were following a “leader”(?) because they were brainwashed into believing he was a superior power. He wasn’t, he was death to millions, caused heartache and disaster around the globe and ended up killing himself in the end. What purpose did that man serve? Not anything good. He certainly wasn’t a superior human being, that’s for sure! To him, no one mattered, only his cause!
It is truly a sad world we live in and too many people get caught up in a lot more than they bargained for when they are being led by propaganda, lies and deception. People are sometimes rather ignorant for the most part, and don’t always think for themselves. I don’t care what anyone is or does as long as it is not hurting someone in the process. Everyone has a life to live and sometimes they find true peace and ultimate happiness and thankfulness while others just never find it. We all have a choice and we all have our allotted time to grow and change for the better. I guess being optimistic and positive reaps greater results for true peace and happiness then negativity and despair. Some reach the end of their rope and have no place to turn or no one to turn to. I would rather encourage someone than discourage them. There is hope for everyone and the world would be a much better place if people thought about trying to improve a situation rather than go on an ego trip ultimately making a bad situation worse.
Thank God for laws and law enforcement. That job in itself requires a great deal of skill, common sense, integrity and guts! We can never afford to let our guard down. Our world doesn’t need more problems or chaos, it needs more understanding and truth. We certainly don’t need a socialist society and I wish more people understood what a dead end that truly is. Socialism does lead to communism and if those individuals who think otherwise they certainly are being misled.
There are a lot of wonderful individuals out to do a great deal of good and then you have a great many who are out to do the exact opposite. Those individuals have nothing to gain, they may think they do, but they end up having to live in the disasters they promote. Some people are beyond help and even if you offered it to them, they’d just turn their backs and continue on. They have no soul and don’t want anyone to have one either. At least in that way, they will never feel totally alone, no mater how lonely they truly are in the end. I would stand for someone who tried to do the right thing before I ever stood aside someone that didn’t.
There is way too much confusion out there, too many voices and too much chaos. If people learned to shut it down for awhile, think for themselves and try to be promoters of peace, it certainly would be a far better world. God bless all those who do their best to help those in most need and to be thankful for what they have. What is the saying, how does it go:
Mark 8:36 Commentaries: "For what does it profit a man to gain the ...
{11}” For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (11) “They are the most foolish of all men who purchase the pleasures of this life with the loss of everlasting bliss.”
Yup, I guess that pretty much sums it up!
