Note<\/em>: The following is a letter sent by a friend (and supporter of this website), Carole Milljour, to the rather duplicitous and moral reprobate Chuck Schumer, Senator from NY. She had originally signed on to a group letter opposing the use of Federal government money to pay for abortions (i.e. repeal the long-standing Hyde amendment), and in this letter she is responding to his reply, which, of course, is both despicable and predictable (his response is below Carole\u2019s letter). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are many parallels between slavery and abortion, the most obvious being there are those who create a culture which allows for sub-humans, and this entitles them to use their Untermensch<\/em> as chattel: if it\u2019s not human you can treat it like an inanimate machine, and if it proves to be troublesome, simply sell it or kill it. Curiously, there were many slave owners and supporters of slavery who did in fact have moral qualms about the horror they propagated, but were essentially addicts to the convenience and power that apparently comes with owning people. This raises the great moral question- which is more depraved, to know it is evil ad do it anyway, or to be so reprehensibly inhumane as to not even recognize evil. Chuck Schumer is somewhat atypical because he fits in both of these categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dear Honorable Charles Schumer:  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It may be a woman's body, but it is not her life she is sacrificing, but a child of God.  Our government should not be funding abortion services or services in which body parts of an unborn baby are sold for profit.  As a taxpayer, and voting resident of NY, I do not like the attitude of anyone who thinks they have any power at all to vote for taking a human life, especially when that individual is in office to work for the citizens of this state.  It may be your opinion, but not the opinion of everyone you were chosen to represent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am shocked and angry that you can have such little concern for an unborn child with the feeble excuse that it is okay to terminate it under the guise of \u201cit's a woman's right since it is her body.\u201d No one should have that right.  That unborn child suffers when it is torn apart in the womb.  Abortion is a moneymaker and people who are for it don't care one way or the other for the child or<\/em> the mother.  It's a disgrace.  A woman has the right to use the various types of birth control, because that is her body; but the body she plans to remove from her womb is not<\/em> hers: that child is a separate entity unto it's own.  I was my mother's child, not my mother!  It may have been her body, but I was her child!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The wrath of God is upon this nation and you are supposed to represent the citizens of this state, not use your opinion as the final say.\u00a0 A great majority wants to change the law and that is a fact!\u00a0 I don't hold your opinion.\u00a0 I know abortion is slaughter of an unborn child who suffers and is sometimes left to die outside of the womb.\u00a0 What right does anyone have to take a life, especially an innocent life.\u00a0 You, as a father, should be very ashamed!\u00a0 I pray for you and for all those who think abortion is not<\/em> murder and have the audacity to justify it as a worthy cause!\u00a0 Nothing good comes out of violence and that is one of the worst violent acts there is; anyone who believes otherwise is only fooling themselves.\u00a0 No one can live off the fat of the land forever, life changes and we all die in the end, and those who live by the sword often die by the sword.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I really do hope that someday you stand up for what's right!\u00a0 You will never get my vote any other way!\u00a0 I've been displeased with you throughout the years you've held your position in the senate and from your comments below, it certainly appears my opinion of you won't be changing any time soon! \u00a0 God Bless you, because you certainly need a reality check and the forgiveness of God!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Thank you for sharing your comments on the issue of abortion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            As the father of two girls, I share your deep respect for the sanctity of life, and I realize the importance of honoring one's moral and religious heritage. But I also value the freedom under the law that all American citizens have to base our personal choices on our own values and moral convictions. I also believe that the decision to have children ought to be a personal one based on a woman's own religious and moral beliefs, not those of the government or outside organizations. Having said that, I support measures that aim to reduce the number of legal abortions, and I believe that education and prevention are critical to achieving that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            The decision to have an abortion will never be an easy one, nor should it be, but I believe that every woman should have the option to make her own determination in counsel with her minister, priest, or rabbi, her physician and her family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
