<\/a>My career was as a medical practitioner (PA) and I am supportive of vaccines. Nevertheless, I question the wisdom of routinely interrupting natural immunity in less severe illnesses, such as chickenpox. I\u2019ve been around long enough to speak politico-medical jargon and am weary when qualifying words such as \u201cassociated\u201d are used: a subtle means of transforming medical science into political science, as Gov. Shapiro egregiously did. Keeping in mind that not a single authority has advocated against the measles vaccine and the Trump administration fully continues the measles recommendation, Shapiro used these two tragic deaths to establish a false narrative, possibly to bolster his Trump-hating credentials as the Democrat party moves to increasing extremism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
It was both fascinating and disturbing to witness how Shapiro exploited sorrow for political advantage. In one of the cases the victim was a newborn infant who died from damage to the spleen; he did have the measles virus detected in lung tissue but his death was unrelated. The second death was of a six-week-old girl who was born with a fatal condition called Amish Lethal Microcephaly. Babies with this untreatable condition rarely survive beyond six months; any viral illness can hasten death, and this baby did<\/em> have the measles virus detected. With the latter death Shapiro weaseled around when asked for more specifics, stating he \u201cwould not engage in a back-and-forth about conspiracy theories that are showing up online,\u201d instead of actually supplying information (such as the baby girl was born with a fatal condition). This behavior can be described as \u201cdrive by:\u201d making a misleading or false claim then trying to deflect and denigrate anyone asking questions. The accusations of \u201cconspiracy theories\u201d is a bread and butter tactic of the Democrats to shape a phony narrative and suppress opposition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There is a morbid irony in Shapiro\u2019s emphasis that these two tragic deaths were in \u201cunvaccinated<\/strong><\/em>\u201d people: there is no recommendation whatsoever that the measles immunizations be given to children less than a year old, so of course<\/em> these babies were unvaccinated. The ultimate fantasy of execrable people\/politicians such as Shapiro would be for a cute 8-year-old child to die of measles with an ignorant father saying, \u201cI didn\u2019t get none of them vaccinations in my young\u2019uns cause Trump told me not to.\u201d Reminiscent of another utterly false but widely circulated by the Democrats claim that Trump told people to inject bleach to treat the corona virus in 2020. Earlier this year an educated and wealthy Trump-hating friend repeated this gross falsehood as if it were gospel. The \u201cdrive by\u201d media and politicians know well that a shocking headline is enough information for people driven by emotion and no interest in the truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Gov. Josh Shapiro was raised in the affluent Dresher suburb of Philadelphia, the child of a physician father and educator mother. He graduated high school from the private the Akiba Hebrew Academy (current tuition over $42,000 a year) in 1991, and went on to college, graduating with a degree in political science in 1995. He then moved to the Washington, DC area where he worked as a congressional aid and attended Georgetown law school. He worked at the large white collar law firm of Ballard Spahr for a couple of years, then in 2004 he entered the dubiuosly titled universe of \u201cpublic service\u201d (politics) and remained there ever since, beginning as a PA state rep and eventually as governor. In other words, he\u2019s never existed outside the bubble of privilege. To paraphrase the increasing ridiculous term \u201ctruth to power,\u201d he has epitomized privilege to power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n While Donald Trump has his silly greatest this and greatest that<\/em> declarations that consistently elicit foaming-at-the-mouth reactions from his detractors (all these years they haven\u2019t figured out that\u2019s the goal!) and Joe Biden had his pitiable claims such as he was a coal miner and truck driver, Shapiro\u2019s measles grandstanding is much more despicable. Truly, what kind of person would use the tragic deaths of two infants and all the misery inherent with them in an attempt to further political power, and<\/em> blatantly lie in the process?
